Insurancetimes.co.uk reveals new tenders daily. This week's picks include:

  • Oxfordshire County Council has put out a call to tender for its entire book of insurance cover. A spokeswoman said the council would negotiate its own cover. She said: "The major insurers are not interested in the local municipal risks and as a result the major brokers find it difficult to place such risks."

  • Newport City Council has put out a second call to tender for several of its insurance covers. Its existing insurers have told the council that its policies are now up for renewal. The council will choose from a panel of insurers, which include Royal & SunAlliance, Allianz Cornhill and Groupama Insurance.

  • Central Scotland Joint Police Board has issued a call to tender for its book of insurance covers worth up to £513m. Marsh will handle the broking of the cover, which is expected to last for a minimum of 36 months. The deadline for completion is 13 March.

  • The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.

Hosted by comedian and actor Tom Allen, 34 Gold, 23 Silver and 22 Bronze awards were handed out across an amazing 34 categories recognising brilliance and innovation right across the breadth of UK general insurance.
Many congratulations to all the worthy winners and as always, huge thanks to our sponsors for their support and our judges for their expertise.
