Lloyd's broker Thompson Heath & Bond strikes a deal with Renault motor sport...

Cars racing in this season's Renault motor sport competitions will display the logo of Lloyd's broker Thompson Heath & Bond following a new partnership deal with Renault Sport UK.

The partnership will provide personal accident cover to every driver registered in a Renault Sport UK championship, as well as offering other on-track and off-track insurances to competitors such as cover for transportation of race vehicles, trailers, spares and equipment.

Sport insurance specialist THB Clowes, part of the Lloyd's broker's retail operation based in London, also becomes the new title sponsor of the Driver of the Day award in Formula Renault UK and the new title sponsor of the Fastest Lap in the Clio Cup.

The deal is announced just one week after THB Group disposed of its Warwick and Nottingham operations and one day before the Group announces its interim results.

Commenting on the exciting initiative, Renault UK's Motor Sport Manager Tim Jackson said: “It's fantastic to have a company as renowned as THB Clowes joining the Renault Sport family and supporting our three championships. I believe our competitors will reap the benefits of this agreement with THB Clowes.”

Frank Murphy, Chief Executive of Thompson Heath & Bond Ltd, added: “THB Clowes, headed by Karen Ellis in London, has built an excellent reputation around specialist knowledge of professional sport risks. In a week where we have re-focused our business, this high-profile partnership confirms THB's commitment to growth in our specialist London operations.”
