The very latest insurance technology will be on show at IT Direct Expo 2000, at the Baltic Exchange in the City of London on May 19.

IT Direct expects the event, which Insurance Times is sponsoring, to attract more than 500 visitors.

BT, Microsoft, Bull, Lotus and Toshiba will be among more than 30 exhibitors on the day. Products will be displayed in five categories:

  • IT equipment, such as PCs software, peripherals and consumables
  • IT recruitment and training services
  • Data solutions such as networking consultancy and disaster recovery
  • Communications and intelligence/internet services
  • Market specific services such as risk exchange and asset registration

    There will be a series of seminars presented by BT and Microsoft.

    IT Direct marketing manager Richard Summers said: "To maintain its reputation as a vigorous and powerful purchasing platform for Lloyd's, IT Direct has implemented a broad-based marketing strategy with Expo providing the cornerstone."

    For the two days prior to the exhibition, the venue also hosts London Insurance 2000.
