Towergate has renamed its London market broking business as Bishopsgate.

Bishopsgate, launched today, specialises in property, liability, motor, professional indemnity and jeweler’s block insurance.

It said it aims to provide regional retail brokers with quotes within a guaranteed timeframe and “be innovative at working to set up new facilities for specialist products”.

Bishopsgate is headed by managing director Neil Pearce, who joined in August and was previously managing director at Windsor Insurance Brokers.

He is supported by broking and distribution director Paul Longhurst who Bishopgate said ran the London market broking team at Bluefin for 25 years, growing the business from £45m to £75m gross written premium.

The new name comes ahead of an office move to 55 Bishopsgate in London in February.

“We have a team with formidable collective experience and a level of integrity and insight that I know are in high demand,” Pearce said.
