Towergate has made a raft of senior hires to strengthen its Scottish operations.

Caroline Inglis has joined the broker as regional operations director for Scotland and Northern Ireland. She will report to regional managing director for Scotland and Northern Ireland Gordon Crosbie (pictured).

Inglis’s previous role included setting up an office in Glasgow for Liberty Insurance. Prior to that, she spent several years as a placement broker and regional placement leader at Marsh.

Towergate has also appointed Ian Docherty as broking director for the South of Scotland.

Docherty was previously the Scottish broking manager at Central Insurance Brokers.

In addition to these changes, Stephen Boyd, who has worked for Towergate for 10 years, has been promoted to area managing director for Scotland South.

This follows several years in various operations roles, including national operations director for Towergate in the UK.

Commenting on the appointments Towergate Broking chief executive Mike Lawton said: “Our broking businesses are confidently pushing forwards with plans to look at further expansion opportunities in Scotland, where Towergate has historically had a broad and reputable presence.

“Our newly reinforced team is well placed to capitalise on providing the very best face to face general insurance advice coupled with genuine local business knowledge.”

Crosbie added: “The Scottish broking market is alive with opportunity and Towergate is brilliantly positioned to reinforce its brand and service proposition in a drive to increase market share.”
