Across the UK, 113 stolen vehicles worth over £2.7m were found and returned to their owners last month using the tracking system.

In London, 24 vehicles with a market value of £688,000 were recovered.

The effectiveness of the system for fleet insurers was highlighted by the fact that of the four BMW's stolen from a Buckinghamshire dealer; the non-tracker car is the only car yet to be recovered.

Buckinghamshire was the focus of many thieves' activity, with over £285,000 worth of vehicles stolen. All these cars were later returned to their owners after been traced.

Fleet insurers have also been invited to attend the HGV Crime Solutions Seminar in Bushey on 19 November. The forum will discuss ways of deterring commercial vehicle theft.
