First agricultural distributor to fit anti-theft kit to all new sales

Tractor distributor AgriArgo is to fit CESAR ant-theft devices to all new Landini or McCormick tractors in 2010 securing farmers 12.5% premium discounts from NFU Mutual, Tractor& Machinery reports.

“We’re appalled at the growing number of farm tractor thefts and the cost to owners in terms of inconvenience, distress and rising insurance premiums,” says Ray Spinks, general manager. “So we’re taking the initiative to safeguard our products by registering ownership details of all new Landini and McCormick tractors with CESAR.”

Industry approved

The Agricultural Engineers’ Association (AEA) recently adopted the CESAR transponder and microdot identification scheme.

On a typical NFU policy with a £450 premium, the discount represents a saving of £56 per tractor.
