A new report by the Federation of Small Business (FSB) has revealed that 8% of small businesses are trading without employers' liability
(EL) cover. The report is based on a survey of more than 1,000 small businesses conducted in June.
It found 25% of small businesses are still finding it "difficult or impossible" to secure cover, including those in low risk sectors such as retail.
And 20% of small businesses reported that their premiums had doubled this year.
