Two fault accidents can double motor premiums

Confused.com says two fault motor accidents could double the price a driver pays for their insurance.

Will Thomas, head of motor, at Confused.com said: "Just a couple of accidents could double your premium and more. When you consider the average premium in 2009 was £400 that's a lot of money to lose and let's face it, there are far better things you could be spending it on.

The recent bad weather has seen a marked rise in accident claims, with some insurance providers receiving double the amount of accident claims this January compared to January 2009.

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.

Hosted by comedian and actor Tom Allen, 34 Gold, 23 Silver and 22 Bronze awards were handed out across an amazing 34 categories recognising brilliance and innovation right across the breadth of UK general insurance.
Many congratulations to all the worthy winners and as always, huge thanks to our sponsors for their support and our judges for their expertise.
