Specialist affinity insurer UIA Insurance Limited [UIA] has announced a joint venture with Legal and Financial Needs Limited [LFN] to provide home insurance for the National Association of Schoolmasters Union of Women Teachers [NASUWT].
The companies say that the NASUWT's 200,000 members will have access to "competitively priced" home insurance under the ΠTeaching Today Financial Insurance Services (FIS) facility.
ΠTeaching Today FIS, provided by LFN, offers financial, insurance and mortgage advice to teachers.
UIA managing director Ian Cracknell said: "I am delighted that UIA has established this joint venture with LFN, which I hope will be the first of many similar arrangements. I am also very pleased that UIA has enabled the NASUWT to enhance its benefits and look forward to providing a high quality service to its members.
"This new partnership fits with our ongoing strategy to make affordable insurance products available to trade union members," he added.
NASUWT members can access information through the NASUWT website (www.teachersunion.org.uk) and other member communications, including the ΠTeaching Today magazine.
