A few weeks ago Backchat reported the plight of football's Mr Mopey

Peter Reid who was quoted as "unhappy" by a Gibraltar-based underwriter. That was until the company boss heard about it and made the underwriter apply the Sally rule (same as last year).

Was Reid happy? It seems not. Reid has not renewed his policy. It would be no surprise in the current soft private motor market if Reid could not find half a dozen insurers prepared to quote him as "happy".

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.

Hosted by comedian and actor Tom Allen, 34 Gold, 23 Silver and 22 Bronze awards were handed out across an amazing 34 categories recognising brilliance and innovation right across the breadth of UK general insurance.
