Colin Willsher should count his lucky stars! As a small broker (12 staff) we frequently get motor renewals increased by 20%, 40%, 60%, 100% and more and all the insurers will say is "that is our rate for the risk." These are cases in innocuous occupations and non-city areas with clean records. Just one example - a retired nursing sister's 70% increase last year and another 30% on top of that this year.
After a lifetime in the business I must conclude that insurance is devoid of morals.
