The key players are settling into their roles after the Franco-Australian insurer invasion of the UK broker market over the past couple of months.

Backchat understands that Equity chief Neil Utley is currently in Australia undergoing an IAG initiation ceremony (something to do with a slab of XXXX, a Kings Cross bordello and a koala, apparently).

And speculation is mounting about the organisational structure at AXA following its Layton Blackham and Stuart Reid acquisitions. One wag in the market said: "I would love to be a fly on the wall when Chris Blackham gives Stuart Reid his first appraisal."

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.

Hosted by comedian and actor Tom Allen, 34 Gold, 23 Silver and 22 Bronze awards were handed out across an amazing 34 categories recognising brilliance and innovation right across the breadth of UK general insurance.
