Former Lloyd's of London underwriter and former chairman of Wellington Underwriting, Ian Agnew, has been appointed a non-executive director of Equitas Holdings.
Agnew, who was appointed by the Corporation of Lloyd's, succeeds Stephen Catlin, chairman of Catlin Underwriting Agencies, after more than five years of service.
Agnew formed managing and members agency I C Agnew Underwriting Ltd, a company that was acquired by Wellington Underwriting in 1990.
In July 1998, he was appointed chairman of Wellington.
Mr Agnew has served as deputy chairman of Lloyd's, and has also been appointed to the Boards of Equitas Reinsurance and Equitas, Equitas' two principle subsidiaries.
