Motor insurer esure is facing the wrath of the entertainment profession over its advertising campaign starring Michael Winner. This weekend The Guardian reported that actors want union Equity to report esure to the Office of Fair Trading. They are incensed because esure will not insure those in the entertainment profession, yet the advert features an actor/director.

According to The Guardian, esure has banned entertainers because it fears big claims from actors and musicians whose careers are ruined by face and hand injuries. Backchat presumes esure can't be too worried about the possible decline of Winner's acting career given his wooden performance in the ads.

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.
