Whitespace Software has launched XML Service for the development and delivery of computer systems that use XML as a core technology.
XML Service manager Mike Minns said: "Many of our customers are asking about XML. Its strength is that by allowing data to be stored along with the information of its own structure, data can be independent of the system which created it.
Whitespace managing director Jonathan Clarke added that his company expected XML to be used as a transport medium, within and between systems, in order to ensure data integrity.
He said it would be used in conjunction with XSL (eXtensible Stylesheet Language) as a way of manipulating and displaying data.
