A satellite video link between New York and London seemed like the obvious way to launch a survey called the Efrontier. But Backchat reckons his very good friends at St Paul wish they hadn't bothered.

The assembled masses of London's finest ladies and gentlemen of the press waited with baited breath, but to no avail. London failed to receive

any pictures from New York, despite all the BT equipment parked outside, and the hacks (that's journalists, not the computer type) were left viewing a few Powerpoint slides instead.

Was there skulduggery afoot? Backchat

wonders whether it had anything to do with the company's international technology markets manager, who goes by the name of Marr Haack.
