Move made to increase specialisation, says CEO

Willis has announced three key appointments to drive forwards its life sciences and technology/telecommunications sectors.

Sara Benolken has been appointed to Industry Leader, Technology/Telecommunications Practice and Executive Vice President of Willis’ North American operations.

David Shuey has been appointed to Industry Leader - Life Sciences Practice, and Executive Vice President of Willis’ Maryland operations.

Benolken and Shuey will provide intellectual capital, thought leadership, brokerage expertise, and consulting services to Willis clients in their respective sectors and to the Willis Client Advocates who serve them.

John Bayeux, Industry Leader – Financial Institutions (FI) Practice, and Executive Vice President of Willis’ New York operations, has been appointed to lead all emerging Willis Industry Practices.

In addition to his continued leadership of the FI Practice, Bayeux will also now oversee the Real Estate & Hotels; Environmental, Sports, Entertainment and Media; Utilities; Life Sciences; and Technology/Telecommunications Practices, all of which have dedicated leadership in their own right.

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.
