Lloyd's broker RK Harrison has recruited top Willis man, Hugo Merison, to head up its new Chester office.

Merison was Willis Group's joint head of international financial and professional risks.

Lloyd's broker RK Harrison has recruited top Willis man, Hugo Merison, to head up its new Chester office.

Merison was Willis Group's joint head of international financial and professional risks.

He will be set a target of reaching £1m annual commission income for the Chester office by 2006.

The office opens in the autumn and will focus on high net worth and commercial business.

Merison was also former executive director of Willis's UK retail operation, where he focused on the North of England and North Wales.

RK Harrison commercial director Stuart Rootham said Merison had "built himself a reputation for excellent client service coupled with innovative solutions".

The Chester office will open with up to nine staff, but Rootham confirmed that the broker is looking to recruit more "quality commercial and high net worth business producers".
