Maidstone-based broker 'excited' by year ahead

Endsleigh-owned Woodstock Insurance Brokers today revealed details of three acquisitions completed in the past year.

The company said it completed the acquisition of both the personal lines and commercial portfolios of a large broker based in Slough, in June 2010.

This was followed in September 2010 with the purchase of the entire general insurance portfolio of Active Insurance, based in Surrey.

Woodstock also completed the purchase of a personal lines book from Clear Insurance Management, based in New Malden.

Carlos Thompson, head of business development at Endsleigh Insurance Services said: “We’re keen to build on our successes from last year and further potential acquisitions are already in the pipeline for 2011."

Endsleigh Insurance Services took over the controlling interest in Woodstock Insurance Brokers from its parent company, Zurich in July 2009.

Thompson added: "With uncertain market conditions continuing, we’re finding clear opportunities out there with brokers looking to sell all or part of their book, as they look to focus on their core business in the face of industry challenges.

"These recent acquisitions have significantly strengthened our portfolio and offering to customers and we’re excited at the prospects for growth this year.”

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.

Hosted by comedian and actor Tom Allen, 34 Gold, 23 Silver and 22 Bronze awards were handed out across an amazing 34 categories recognising brilliance and innovation right across the breadth of UK general insurance.
Many congratulations to all the worthy winners and as always, huge thanks to our sponsors for their support and our judges for their expertise.
