Young will remain a 'significant' shareholder in Jelf
Jelf Group corporate director for insurance Kevin Young is to leave the business at the end of the month.
Young, who was chairman of Argyll Insurance Group, a Kent-based broker acquired by Jelf in April 2008, will pursue a number of business interests outside the insurance sector.
Group chief executive Alex Alway said: “Kevin will be a real loss to the business; however, we fully understand his desire to broaden his experience in other sectors.”
Young, who was promoted to a wider group role last year, said: “Alex and I have always had an honest and open dialogue and we have come to a mutual agreement where I can develop some of my other business interests.
“That said, I remain a significant shareholder and I will retain a keen interest in Jelf as it continues to strengthen its position. I have offered my ongoing assistance to the team, should they require it.”
Earlier this month, Jelf appointed former AXA Sun Life chief executive Les Owen as its new non-executive chairman.
Hosted by comedian and actor Tom Allen, 34 Gold, 23 Silver and 22 Bronze awards were handed out across an amazing 34 categories recognising brilliance and innovation right across the breadth of UK general insurance.
