Zurich Financial Services' India programme was short-listed in the International Business Leaders Forum Global Leadership Award category at the Business in the Community Awards for Excellence last week.

Zurich's Community Trust gives £100,000 every year to the programme, which supports eight non-government organisations in South India.

The organisations are involved in care of the disabled, eradicating child labour and violence against women and preventing blindness.

The programme focuses on transferring business skills and funding by sending Zurich employees to the organisations on various assignments. Over the past six years, 40 employees have made the trip to India.
