Insurer takes over ‘Par Excellence’ scheme from Chartis

Golf club

Zurich Insurance has landed a long-term deal to underwrite a scheme for 600 golf clubs across the UK.

The 20-year-old ‘Par Excellence’ scheme is run by Glasgow-based Circle Golf. Circle Golf is a trading division of Circle Insurance Services plc, a chartered insurance broker, which provides a range of services to corporate and private clients throughout England and Scotland.

The scheme was underwritten by Chartis for the past eight years and under CCV before that.

Zurich Commercial Broker division director of SMEs Richard Coleman said: “At Zurich, we particularly like to support specialist brokers who understand their customer base and Circle Golf fits into this category perfectly. Given that the scheme was established almost 20 years ago and has changed insurer only twice, we are really excited by the opportunity to work with them in the future.”

Zurich’s head of broker market - Scotland, Stephen McKenna said: “This is a fantastic win for us. It is not often such a well known and established scheme comes to market and I am delighted to partner one of our local key brokers and build a mutually successful long term relationship built on expertise.”

Circle Golf divisional director Ian Smith said: “We are delighted to sign this partnership deal with Zurich. Our clients are already enjoying enhanced service from a company as focused on value as we’ve always been at Circle Golf. It was especially nice to share our launch with key clients, colleagues and fellow golf industry professionals at Kilspindie.”
