Policy covers up to £10,000 of vet fees and £3m of public liability

Pet insurance

LV= has launched a pet policy that offers pet owners cover for up to £10,000 of vet fees each years.

The company says the new product is particularly helpful in cases where a pet develops a chronic condition at a young age and need regular treatment or medication.

As well as medical cover, the product also offers up to £3m of public liability in case a pet causes injury or property damage.

It also provides up to £1,500 for advertising and reward costs of the pet goes missing, and up to £3,000 if a family has to cancel a holiday because of pet illness.

The policy has a fixed excess of £75 per condition, per year.

LV= pet insurance manager Julie Constable said: “Vet bills can be extremely expensive, especially if a pet develops a chronic condition.

“We’ve designed our new premier product so pet owners won’t be left surprised by expensive vet bills if their cat or dog needs medical attention, because we know that costs are the last thing they need to worry about if their pet gets hurt or becomes ill.”
