AM Best has assigned an A- (excellent) financial strength rating to Arch Insurance Company (Europe) Limited.
In addition, the ratings agency assigned an issuer credit rating of a- to the company.
The outlook for both ratings is stable, it said.
AM Best said the ratings reflect the company's strategic role to its parent company, Bermuda-based Arch Capital Group, as well as its excellent capital base on a stand alone basis.
An offsetting factor in the rating is Arch Europe's limited business profile, said AM Best.
