Branch number 14 for £32m GWP broker

Academy Insurance has bought Elstree Insurance, bringing its number of offices to 14.

The acquisition of Elstree, in Cambridgeshire, follow’s last year’s purchase of P M Hart in Yardley.

Academy managing director Kevin Munn said that Academy was now prepared to buy brokers much further from its M4 corridor home.

Elstree’s loyal client base made it an ideal business to buy, Munn added.

Elstree owner Mark Corb will stay at the business for at least a year and the branch will retain its Elstree Insurance branding.

Academy expects to control over £32m of gross written premium by the end of June 2015.
