The Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA) studied the programmes and found Changing Rooms' Handy Andy drilling into brick without safety goggles and long-haired Laurence Llewellyn Bowen not taming his mane as he worked.

A spokesman for RoSPA said: “We have had concerns about these sort of programmes for quite some time. There is a beat-the-clock element to these programmes and the ordinary punter does not see what's going on behind the scenes.”
