Insurer commended for meeting rigorous criteria relating to professionalism and capability

The UK business of AIG has been awarded chartered insurance status by the Chartered Insurance Institute (CII).

The insurer has been commended by the institute for meeting its rigorous criteria relating to professionalism and capability.

AIG managing director UK and Israel Nicolas Aubert said: “This is a proud moment for AIG. To be recognised for our professionalism is very important to us. It demonstrates our commitment to raising standards within the industry, which we believe is essential in keeping both AIG and the London Market as world leaders in our industry.”

CII chief executive Dr Sandy Scott added: “I am delighted that AIG has achieved chartered insurer status, demonstrating that the London Market is actively embracing the challenges of professionalism, both as a driver of competitive advantage and as an important means of building confidence and trust.”

“To date, 24 firms have achieved chartered insurer status, indicating that this is a highly exclusive award reserved for the leading firms within the financial advice market.”

 

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.

Hosted by comedian and actor Tom Allen, 34 Gold, 23 Silver and 22 Bronze awards were handed out across an amazing 34 categories recognising brilliance and innovation right across the breadth of UK general insurance.
