Appoints three new UK risk consultants to Allianz Global Corporate and Specialty

Allianz Global Corporate and Specialty has appointed three new risk consultants in its UK office.

Maarten van der Zwaag has been appointed senior risk consultant, a position he held in the Netherlands with Allianz Risk consultants BV. Prior to joining Allianz, Maarten worked at Anderson Consulting and Tebovin BV.

Chris Brierley has been appointed senior risk consultant. Brierley spent over 17 years in the New Zealand Fire Service where he worked in Fire Risk Management. He also spent 10 years with Willis New Zealand Risk Consulting.

Kevin Kaye has been a practising fire safety officer and is currently chair of the East Midlands branch of the IFE. He joins Allianz as a property risk consultant.

Dennis Murphy, head of risk consulting, commented: “Allianz is delighted to welcome such high-calibre personnel to the team. I aim to make our UK risk consultants one of the strongest in the business at supporting and guiding our clients on how to manage their risks better. We are adopting a pragmatic approach, as opposed to the more prescriptive method of loss control sometimes seen in the area.”

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.

Hosted by comedian and actor Tom Allen, 34 Gold, 23 Silver and 22 Bronze awards were handed out across an amazing 34 categories recognising brilliance and innovation right across the breadth of UK general insurance.
Many congratulations to all the worthy winners and as always, huge thanks to our sponsors for their support and our judges for their expertise.
