Allianz Insurance has made four senior management appointments to its newly formed Technical division, led by chief underwriting officer, Neil Clutterbuck.

Catherine Dixon will take on the role of director of underwriting & technical, commercial lines.

She has been promoted from her previous position as head of property and casualty.

Simon Brimicombe has been promoted to the role of underwriting & technical, personal lines.

He joined the business in 2007, as director, broker and corporate partner, before taking on the role of retail technical director, retail, in November 2015.

Tim Pitts will become head of technical & business standards, moving from his former role as head of product, home and motor.

Chris Wyard has also been appointed to the position of head of underwriting data and MI development.

Clutterbuck said: “Technical excellence continues to be a major focus for Allianz and is critical to our future underwriting success.

”I’m confident that we are now in the best position possible by bringing together our expert data and analytics capability and market leading underwriting expertise.”

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.
