New appointment will focus on strategy, planning and operations

Allianz Insurance has promoted Stuart Daws to manager, risk control in its commercial division.

In his new role, Daws will focus on ensuring the risk control function supports the business needs and objectives. He succeeds Andrew Miller who has retired after 35 years with the company.

Daws, who has worked for Allianz for 11 years in both risk control and operational roles, will be responsible for the strategy, planning and operations of the risk control function. He will head up a team of surveyors providing property and liability risk control surveys within the UK, and a team of technical experts offering technical information and training in relation to fire, security and health and safety matters.

Allianz’s property and risk control manager Catherine Dixon (pictured left) said: “I am delighted that we have been able to fill this management position internally. Stuart has an excellent understanding of our company and experience within this field. I have every confidence that the knowledge and skill which he brings to the role will add huge value to our commercial division and our customers.”
