Three new appointments to work with claims handlers

Allianz has added further specialist staff to help coordinate rehabilitation services for claimants who have suffered severe injuries.

Following the appointment of Cathy Bloye and Georgie Cooper last year, the team has been expanded to five with the appointment of Carron Whelan, Bronwen Williams and Samantha Balnaves. They will work with claims handlers to ensure referral to the most appropriate rehabilitation for catastrophic injury claimants.

The coordinators maintain close working relationships with UK-wide rehabilitation services and are therefore able to select the appropriate service to meet the claimant's needs.

Cooper said:
"As well as ensuring claimants' needs are met, we work with rehabilitation providers to increase service standards and ensure that best practice is maintained.

"We also provide internal education on rehabilitation to the claims handlers to provide an insight into the process and what to expect in terms of time frames for recovery."

All the rehabilitation coordinators have worked within the health service arena.

Martin Saunders, Allianz Insurance motor and casualty claims manager, said:
"The skills and knowledge that the coordinators bring mean that we are able to provide an improved service for people with the most severe personal injuries."
