UK chairman and group board member joins reforming ABI

Allianz UK chairman Clement Booth, has joined the board of the Association of British Insurers (ABI).

Archie Kane, ABI chairman, said: “I'm delighted that Clem has agreed to join the ABI board. He brings vast experience as a global player in both wholesale and retail insurance, and has an excellent knowledge and understanding of the political and regulatory environment in the European Union and in wider international markets.

"All this will be invaluable as the ABI Board works to lead the industry through these challenging times, while also continually improving our customers' experience."

Reforms for consumers

Booth, who is also on the Allianz group board of management, said: “This is a crucial time for the insurance industry, and for UK financial services more widely.

"I'm very pleased to have been appointed to the ABI Board, where I will focus my energies not only on ensuring that the industry is well-placed to continue to weather the economic storm, but also on driving forward reforms in the general insurance industry which will benefit consumers."

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.

Hosted by comedian and actor Tom Allen, 34 Gold, 23 Silver and 22 Bronze awards were handed out across an amazing 34 categories recognising brilliance and innovation right across the breadth of UK general insurance.
