The Accident Management Association (AMA) has claimed its member base now accounts for 70% of the UK credit hire repair market.
The AMA claimed today that it now has 34 full members and five association members.
AMA chairman Adrian Palmer said: "Expanding the membership has been one of the AMA's priorities for this year and I am delighted to have so many new companies joining. Accident management companies increasingly recognise the benefits of uniting the industry and working together under a strong Association.
"Members are focussing on speeding up settlements under the Association of British Insurers General Terms of Agreement, obtaining realistic rates and to facilitating more insurer-referred work. The enlarged membership and recent legal judgements place the AMA in a stronger position in discussions with insurers.
"However, this needs to be balanced against the background of the Association being committed to working in harmony with insurers and our aim of building on the good working relations that increasingly prevail today."
