Former Co-up boss takes role with rural insurer

Rural insurer NFU Mutual has appointed former Co-operative Financial chief executive David Anderson to its board of directors.

Until recently he was chief executive of Co-operative Financial services which includes the CIS insurance business and from 1996 to 2003 he was chief executive of Yorkshire Building Society.

Between 2003 and 2005 he worked in the civil service as chief executive of Jobcentreplus.

Anderson has also served as a member of HM Treasury's financial inclusion task force.

NFU Mutual Group chief executive Lindsay Sinclair, said: “We are delighted that David is joining NFU Mutual’s Board."

"His background and extensive experience across the financial services industry coupled with his knowledge and understanding of mutuality make him a valuable addition to the business.”

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.
