Independent Insurance's liquidators Pricewaterhousecoopers (PWC) are in serious talks with a potential buyer for loss adjustors Property & Casualty Services (PCS), with sources tipping an announcement this afternoon or early tomorrow.

A PWC spokeswoman confirmed that the liquidators were in "extensive, detailed discussions with a potential buyer" for the company.

An industry source close to PWC said that the deal was expected to be closed within a very short time, with good news for PCS staff for feel that their future is uncertain.

The buyer is not believed to be another loss adjustor.

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.
