Aon Risk Consulting (ARC) has poached two high-flying executives to target its business into specialist areas including telecommunications, leisure, utilities and aviation.

ARC has appointed Steve Barnett and Hans Kristian-Bryn as chairman and deputy chairman respectively, to focus on offering risk management advice to the boardrooms of major blue-chip corporates.

Aon deputy chairman Max Taylor said: "We want to listen to the risk problems of the major multinationals and then help interpret these problems into business speak, and not translate them into complicated insurance jargon.

"Other companies have tried to do this, but have predominately used the service to sell their products. We have the products but it is about delivering them."

Barnett joins from Deloitte Consulting where he was a partner in the financial services practice. Bryn has worked for 14 years with PricewaterhouseCoopers in Oslo and London.

Taylor added: "Both men have worked together on projects before. With this exciting team, our plan is to definitely over-reach the business returns of the major consultancy firms."

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.
