A bid by Names to reopen their fraud damages claim against the market has been thrown out
A bid by Lloyd’s Names to re-open their fraud damages claim against the market has failed in the Appeal Court, reports Thomson Financial.
At the original High Court hearing in 2000, the judge dismissed claims by more than 200 Names that Lloyd’s was guilty of fraud because they had not been told about potentially massive insurance claims in the future.
At the hearing on Wednesday the judge dismissed the application to re-open an earlier challenge to the High Court dismissal of their charges.
The Names had argued that further evidence has emerged, but the judge dismissed the case.
Hosted by comedian and actor Tom Allen, 34 Gold, 23 Silver and 22 Bronze awards were handed out across an amazing 34 categories recognising brilliance and innovation right across the breadth of UK general insurance.
