Adoption of Edge IPK technology to improve online broker interface

Commercial lines underwriter, Arista has unviled a new electronic trading facility for its trades and professionals policy, following a four month pilot with Edge IPK.

The insurer has initiated a new front-end web-portal which offers brokers instantaneous package quotes that can be amended, emailed statement of facts for all contracts, and immediate issue of policy documents via email.

The insurer plans to launch another four products during the first quarter of this year.

Head of business systems for Arista, Dave Cheeseman, said the move to enhance its online capabilities would help to remove frictional costs. He said: “We are using technology to replicate the same service levels, professionalism and efficiency that our customers have come to expect from us. As a result brokers can now access a cost effective way of placing package business with us.”

"Our situation was not uncommon but we knew that there were very few parties out there that could provide a fully working system at such short notice.  ... Edge IPK came back to us with their early visualisation framework and in just over four months we went live.

"The real beauty of edgeConnect however is that because new products are now so much easier to bring online, edge IPK has enabled us to react to market changes at a speed our competitors will struggle to match."
