Broker looks to expand instant quotes - starting with tradesmen’s cover

Ian Donaldson Autonet Insurance

Van insurance broker Autonet is branching out into SME products with the launch of quote-and-buy tradesmen’s insurance underwritten by AXA.

The tradesmen’s policy will initially be offered instantly from Autonet’s call centre, and be made available online shortly.

Autonet plans to expand its range of commercial products from a panel of insurers, and allow customers to make online mid-term adjustments.

Cross-selling plans

The broker hopes to cross-sell insurance policies to existing van customers, and will add policies for property owners, shops, offices, personal accidents and pubs and restaurants.

Autonet managing director Ian Donaldson (pictured) said: “We recognised that a significant proportion of Autonet customers own vans for commercial reasons and, as such, were already accessing other lines of commercial insurance for their businesses.”

The automated quote system was developed by software provider CDL.
