Aviva has appointed Lord Sharman of Redlynch OBE as a new independent non-executive director.
The company said Sharman, 61, is chairman of Aegis Group and deputy chairman of Group 4 Securicor.
Aviva said he is also an independent non-executive director of BG Group, Reed Elsevier and a member of the supervisory board of ABN AMRO NV.
He was a formerly an independent non-executive director of Young & Co's Brewery PLC and AEA Technology plc.
