Aviva also names chief underwriting officer for commercial

Aviva has hired Hayley Robinson as chief underwriting officer for personal lines.

Robinson was previously RSA’s underwriting, claims and insurance risk director for Latin America. 

David Dixey, previously head of liability development at Aviva has been appointed chief underwriting officer for commercial, corporate and speciality lines. He has also worked for Zurich

Both will report to Aviva chief underwriting officer Axel Schmidt (pictured), who said: “We remain focussed on ensuring underwriting is at the heart of everything we do and have already made great progress. This March, we posted a group COR of 96% in our full year results showing that underwriting excellence is driving profitable growth.

“I’m delighted to welcome David and Hayley to my senior team. I know that the expertise and knowledge they bring will be a huge asset to Aviva and I look forward to working with them.”

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.
