Aviva is expected to announce later this week which private equity firm has won the race to buy RAC.

Final bids were submitted on Friday, and there are two out of three remaining buyout firms still in the hunt.

The private equity firms include BC Partners, Carlyle Group and Clayton Dublier & Rice.

The sale of RAC, handled by JP Morgan, is expected to fetch anywhere between £600m and £900m.

Aviva declined to comment.
