AXA Commercial Lines and Personal Intermediary will officially launch a new personal lines strategy at this year’s Biba conference.

The strategy is designed to give brokers greater access to AXA’s underwriting, claims and sales arms. It will see AXA focusing more on the UK regions and creating closer ties with brokers. AXA has restructured its sales, operations and claims service into seven regional teams.

AXA account managers are supported by a personal lines trading centre in Ipswich, with regional teams managing trading enquiries.

In a statement, AXA said that the new personal lines proposition would make it easier for the insurer to manage a broker’s whole book of business, rather than dealing with personal and commercial lines in isolation.

The insurer has also made new household insurance products and overhauled existing ones as part of its strategy change.

AXA will also broaden its motor underwriting footprint.

AXA managing director, personal intermediary Karen Hogg said: “We have taken the time to listen to brokers to ensure we are providing them with the support and the products they need. We wanted to ensure that we had the right people in place to provide a consistent point of contact to brokers all around the country.

“As a company we have worked hard to ensure that both the commercial and personal lines intermediary businesses are perfectly aligned in both their structure and offering to so that brokers will find it even more attractive to do business with us.”
