Tony Hutchins switches to AXA to become head of property

AXA Insurance has appointed Tony Hutchins as its new head of property insurance.

Hutchins joins from Allianz Commercial where he was UK head of property and risk control.

At AXA, he will be responsible for the profitable development of AXA’s commercial property account.

Hutchins said: "I am delighted to be joining AXA, a company with a long and successful history, as we look to increase our presence in the mid corporate arena."

Roy Watkinson, technical and commercial underwriting director said: “Tony brings a huge amount of experience and is a very high profile appointment for us as we continue to build a market leading team of underwriters which is readily available, empowered to make decisions and close to our customers."

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.

Hosted by comedian and actor Tom Allen, 34 Gold, 23 Silver and 22 Bronze awards were handed out across an amazing 34 categories recognising brilliance and innovation right across the breadth of UK general insurance.
