Shake up also sees new finance director appointed

AXA has named Gérald Harlin as chief financial officer and said Axa France CEO Francois Pierson will head all of Axa’s property & casualty business.

Christopher Condron, CEO of Axa Financial in the US will head all life insurance and savings businesses.

“We chose to create global roles to oversee P&C insurance and Life & Savings so that our customers can benefit more quickly from the wide range and high quality of our expertise.

“With their experience, in-depth knowledge of the Group and insurance, and personal qualities, I am sure that François and Kip will succeed in accelerating AXA’s growth in both these sectors,” said Henri de Castries, Chairman of AXA’s Management Board.

Strategy and finance

Denis Duverne will oversee the company’s group strategy as well as finance and operations. De Castries will now also supervise human resources and communication.

Jean-Christophe Menioux, chief risk officer, will report directly to Denis Duverne.

These changes start in January 2010.

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.
