Axa is to close its Leeds claims office in July, with the loss of 150 jobs.

The office closure forms part of its new restructuring programme, which includes a new claims structure.

Axa customer services director Andy Fairchild, said: "The decision is part of an ongoing review of our business, which sees Axa placing its focus firmly on customer relationships.

"Redesigning our claims handling processes means we will eliminate duplication, over capacity and high operational costs, while at the same time bringing noticeable benefits to customers by simplifying our approach to claims."
