Intermediary BDML Connect has clinched a joint venture deal with to sell general insurance to the nation's 17.2 million water utility customers.

The deal, with emergency assistance provider Home Service, has meant the creation of a new intermediary, Personal Insurance Plan.

Insurance Times revealed in February that BDML and Home Services were piloting the service. The project was deemed a success and Home Service will now offer general insurance to 16 of the country's 17 water utilities' customers.


The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.
