Insurance Times rounds up the biggest stories from day two of Biba’s conference

As attendees cheerily flocked to Manchester Central – despite some fragile heads – for the second day of the Biba Conference (16 May 2024), Insurance Times editor Katie Scott whether a combined public-private partnership could provide a solution to the problem of systemic cyber risk.

Then, deputy editor Yiannis Kotoulas spoke to Beazley distribution manager Matthew Norris about the importance of simplified messaging to brokers about cyber insurance.

After that, junior reporter Chantal Kapani reported from a panel session entitled What Next for Brokers on industry calls to be consulted on regulatory decisions around guaranteed asset protection (Gap) insurance.

News editor James Cowen also provided a report on the rebranding of Lv=Broker to Allianz as brokers attended the insurer’s stand at the conference. 

And in his own report on the importance of investing in data, contributor Jon Guy noted that the proper utilisation of technology could improve client relationships. 

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.
