Mark Cloutier to take helm of Lloyd’s insurer
Dane Douetil has stepped down as chief executive of Lloyd‘s insurer Brit.
He will be succeeded by seasoned (re)insurance executive Mark Cloutier, best known for his time at Bermuda-based reinsurer Overseas Partners, which culminated in a stint as CEO.
The company has also named non-executive director Hans-Peter Gerhardt chairman of its underwriting committee, and appointed finance chief Scott Egan to the board.
Gerhardt is former chief executive of reinsurer Paris Re, which was formed from the business of AXA Re.
Brit chairman Nick Prettejohn will become a director and chairman of Brit Insurance Ltd and Brit Syndicates Ltd.
Brit was bought by private equity consortium Achilles this year.
Hosted by comedian and actor Tom Allen, 34 Gold, 23 Silver and 22 Bronze awards were handed out across an amazing 34 categories recognising brilliance and innovation right across the breadth of UK general insurance.
